The summer hiatus is almost over. I haven't made a new painting yet, but materials have been organized, notes have been taken, visions are being had. I removed the plastic "ceiling" and Jorge helped rewire the garage. No more fire hazard, the extension cord/power stripping nest will dangle above no more. That was step 1. Step 2 will involve replacing and/or adding to the insulation as well as a ceiling of either vinyl sheeting or drywall. No more sub-freezing days. I ran the Walker Ranch loop yesterday. My legs are sore and joints are stiff, and my spirits are renewed to get painting again. Running is not enough. The forest started looking good again. But I'm seeing it differently now, the art and subject (nature, mountains, etc.) have more separation. So we will see how this new perception affects the paintings.
