Tyrannosaurus Rex Parking Lot

Cold front arrived today with flecks of snow in the AM and finishing off with around six inches overnight. Before the heavy stuff came down I did a small watercolor from the T. Rex commuter lot overlooking the hogbacks to the south. I love this view! As prosaic as the surrounding infrastructure is, the view is actually one of the most dramatic in the Front Range. I think it turned out better the first time I painted it. Couldn't get comfortable. Ready to switch to oil paint and get going. Afterward I gave the new Saucony's a spin up the Apex Trail. This was my first time at Apex. How have I not been there yet? Really nice, the variety and options are better than Chimney Gulch in a lot of ways.
